What is The Episcopal Foundation of Northern California (EFNC)?
The Episcopal Foundation of Northern California (EFNC) was established as a nonprofit corporation in 1983. It is an institution of the Episcopal Church in the Diocese of Northern California and is subject to the provisions of its Constitution and Canons.
The Board of Directors is composed of the bishop and 15 elected members representing congregations throughout Northern California. The Board, as a Committee of the whole, set policy for the Foundation and acts on recommendations of the Board Committees - Executive, Planning, Evaluation, and Nominating, Promotion & Education, and Finance.
From 1992 to 2005, The Foundation has facilitated gifts totaling $24,729,500.25. Of these 77% have benefited Churches, 12.6% the Diocese, 6.5% Diocesan Institutions, 3% outside the Diocese. In 2004, The Foundation facilitated transactions amounting to close to $2 million, 77% of which went to individual churches.
EFNC provides the following services:

Presentations during services
Consultation with vestries about creating, managing and investing endowment funds
Provision of materials for churches to promote an awareness of planned giving
Assistance for your church with issues of estate distributions.
Congregations:
Mini-workshops - (one hour to one 1/2 hours) on estate planning & planned giving
Full workshops, developed in conjunction with local congregations, featuring estate planning specialists
Presentations by Board members on The Foundation and its' work
Individuals:
Assistance for individuals desiring to make gifts/bequests to your church
Consultation with individual members of your congregation about their estate plans
Acting as trustee to enable people to make gifts to their church that permit them to retain life income
Acting as agent for the receipt of gifts of stock
Handling all aspects of gifts of real estate.
